Iron Removal Systems

We provide two types of systems for reduction of Iron & Manganese: (1) Pyrolox is a granular water filtration media used for the removal of iron, manganese and hydrogen sulphide. A naturally mined ore, Pyrolox has been used in water treatment for more than 75 years. Pyrolox filter media works by oxidizing iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide in problem water. Trapped particulate is then removed from the media bed during the backwash cycle. To maintain and further augment the long-term performance and removal capacity of the media, an upstream oxidant feed of some type is recommended, such as air injection, potassium permanganate, sodium permanganate, or chlorine injection. (2) DMI is for higher flow situations and is highly effective for removal of Iron and Manganese. DMI-65 is an extremely powerful catalytic action water filtration media that will remove iron and manganese to the world drinking water standards and down to undetectable levels if required. It can also be used as a mechanical filtration media because of it’s high capacity to filter out suspended solids to approximately larger than 10 microns.
