Kit No Salt Detector Refill

Kit No Salt Detector Refill
Kit No Salt Detector Refill

An Autotrol no-salt detector is an optional feature available on certain Autotrol Logix controllers, such as the 742 and 762 models, that indicates when the salt level in the brine tank is too low. It replaces the standard refill controller with a component that includes electrodes to detect salt in the water during the regeneration cycle. If the electrodes detect no salt, a light on the control panel illuminates, signaling the user to add salt to the brine tank to ensure the water softener continues to function correctly.

How it works:

1. Components:

The no-salt detector kit includes a new refill flow control and a cord that connects the control to the new refill controller.

2. Installation:

The existing refill controller is removed from the valve, and the no-salt detector's refill flow control is installed in its place. The connector on the no-salt detector cord is then inserted into the back of the Logix control, and the other end is connected to the refill flow control.

3. Detection:

During the regeneration cycle, the electrodes in the new refill flow control detect the presence or absence of salt in the water being used to draw brine.

4. Indication:

If salt is not detected, the control signals the user to add salt to the tank.

What it replaces:

The no-salt detector replaces the standard refill controller and ball mechanism that normally prevents the brine tank from overfilling.

It functions as a salt level indicator, alerting the user when the brine tank is empty and needs refilling.
